Build an auditable institutional evidence base from public research metadata
Data ORCID-Chile identifies researchers through verified institutional identifiers, retrieves metadata they have made public in ORCID, and enriches eligible scholarly outputs with OpenAlex. Source provenance and update context remain visible throughout the workflow.
- Public source metadata
- Institution-scoped records
- Documented provenance
A documented workflow from source discovery to responsible reuse
The platform preserves the distinction between source records, derived relationships, analytical indicators, and institutional publication decisions.
Define institutional scope with ROR and verified legacy identifiers, then locate public ORCID affiliations while retaining their evidence source.
Synchronize public profiles, affiliations, works, and funding records; enrich eligible outputs when a reliable OpenAlex match is available.
Examine coverage and provenance, produce controlled exports, and publish institution-approved articles through OAI-PMH.
Functions for institutional research information stewardship
Analyze research activity with stated coverage
Examine works, funding, citations, open-access status, topics, sources, and collaboration within the selected institutional snapshot.
Source-dependent indicatorsResearcher directory
Review public ORCID profiles associated with the institution and the identifier evidence used during discovery.
Quality and trust
Assess metadata completeness, affiliation evidence, canonicalization, and possible duplicate profiles; candidate matches remain subject to human review.
Exports at scale
Generate UTF-8 CSV and XLSX datasets as durable background jobs with progress reporting, private access, and defined retention.
OAI-PMH publishing
Expose institution-approved canonical articles through oai_dc, OpenAIRE, or configurable DataORCID metadata for compatible harvesters.
Institutional access
Apply institutional scope and differentiated permissions for standard users, OAI editors, managers, and administrators.
From public records to documented institutional evidence
The platform does not modify upstream ORCID or OpenAlex records. It stores synchronized snapshots and derived relationships so their origin, update context, and institutional scope can be examined.
- 1Define the institutional scope
ROR is the canonical institutional identifier. Verified GRID and historical Ringgold identifiers are used as additional discovery evidence when available, and results are deduplicated by ORCID iD.
- 2Synchronize and document
Only metadata made public by ORCID record holders is retrieved. Synchronization runs and cache timestamps document the resulting institutional snapshot.
- 3Relate, analyze, and disseminate
DOIs and conservative title-and-year rules support canonical outputs; OpenAlex enrichment and OAI-PMH publication decisions remain distinguishable from source records.
A shared evidence layer for research management and scholarly communication
Monitor public-profile coverage and examine institution-scoped output and funding indicators.
Prepare documented datasets for analysis, reporting, and controlled reuse.
Curate institutional article selection and interoperable metadata dissemination.
Review public affiliations, discovery evidence, and profile coverage gaps.
Assess the service in relation to your institution’s information needs
Describe your institutional context, available identifiers, intended analyses, or interoperability requirements. The team can present the workflow and discuss technical or governance considerations.
